Touch Screen Switches: Technology and Innovation

Over the years, the switch has become a piece of furniture, a small and functional object: the union of practicality and beauty. With the invention of touch screen switches, it is now possible to give a touch of style and innovation to your home.

How do the touch Screen switches work?

An object, an instrument, can evolve, but at the same time, it has the possibility of maintaining some of its qualities, some of the identity characteristics that make it unique.

Thus also the switch of the twenty-first century, the touch switch, responds to precise characteristics of functionality, comfort, beauty, and aesthetic appeal. The electrical switch has radically changed. Technology permeates it, and broadens its perspectives, making it a visual element of the house of the possible future, of the present future.

But in the end, the touch switch is the result of the great history of LIVOLO design and our ability to realize innovative ideas, with high technological content, within soft and familiar shapes.

Initially, the first touch switch models were integrated into touch lamps. By touching it, you could turn it on or off, and change the intensity, color, and temperature of the light. Pressing for longer increases the intensity, stopping and then resuming pressing you to go back.

The peculiarity of touch technology also lies in the possibility of exerting different types of pressure.

From a very light touch, to activate some basic functions, to a more decisive pressure to access particular commands. There are many possibilities offered in the management field by touch technology: less space occupied by switches, for example.

Mobile switches, which rest on their stands in a strategic position, for quick access, embellish the environment thanks to their hi-tech and refined design.

The light switch, in fact, may not only have to be placed on the walls, but on a piece of furniture, or on a convenient portable stand. To better understand how a touch switch works, let’s take a step back and see what lies beneath.

The touch screen switches seen from the inside

On a technological level, a touch switch represents the basic mechanism with which a touch sensor works. It is a basic capacitive sensor that only needs one electrode to function.

Usually, the electrode is placed under a non-conductive material panel – plastic, wood, or glass. The mechanism that is set in motion concerns a physical characteristic of the human being called capacitance.

Touch screen switches work thanks to the capacitance of our body, that is, the body’s ability to possess electrical characteristics.

The sensor detects the increase in capacitance and trips the switch. This is why the correct term is that of ‘touch’ and not that of ‘pressure’.

This is how the design objects placed on the consumer electronics market were born.

Home Touch Screen switches and the possibilities in furnishing

The touch switch changes the way our electrical system is controlled. We are talking about a change that starts with design. The switch becomes completely flat, with the touch mechanism there is nothing left to squeeze, no switcher to move.

Interior designers, architects, and interior designers are the first to understand the possibilities offered by the new touch control systems.

Those looking for something new, a touch of novelty, and hi-tech, to beautify their home, can find here interesting solutions that are able to dialogue with the entire style of furniture.

The elegance, minimalism, and cleanliness of the components define the distinctive feature of this new very special series of switches. Designed both for functionality and aesthetics.

This is the case with the latest series of design switches proposed by Livolo, the range of Crystal series touch switches.

Glass Touch Panel: Rigor, cleanliness, and simplicity in design

The construction materials of the Livolo crystal series are the classic ones, reinterpreted according to the modern needs of electronic technology. The touch plate is glass: to add a touch of purity and brightness to the furniture and to interpret the rooms of the house according to a new style.

The control area, where the touch controls are located, has blue LED illuminated icons in sight. These are small circles with a delicate outlines, clearly visible even from a distance. These are the touch switches and when you touch them, you are dealing with a completely smooth surface.

It starts from the base plate, which manages 3 modules with a single command. You move on to the plate with two 3-module controls and you get to the very convenient electric plate with three 3-module controls in a single frame.

Finally, we must mention the plate which has two overlapping controls, useful both for the control of the blinds and for the control of the light.

The controls work at the slightest touch, thanks to the high-sensitivity proximity sensor that Livolo has integrated.

Enhance the lighting points by better defining the spaces and tasks at the lumen level. Blend and graduate the light in a few simple touches.

Furnish the rooms, day and night, establishing the right amount of light to enter the space, depending on the time of day and the external weather conditions.

You just have to find the line that best suits your home and you will see that you will feel very satisfied with the final result.
